Acer are a Taiwanese hardware and electronics company, whose headquarters are located in Xizhi, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Founded in 1976 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan by Stan Shih, and a group of six others, Acer was originally known as Multitech.


Our comprehensive range of laptops by Apple offer something for every budget. Founded in April 1st, 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, Apple initially sold a personal computer kit. Nowadays Apple are renowned for selling good looking functional products which “just work”.


Asus products include computer motherboards, desktop PCs, laptops, PC monitors, tablet PCs, servers, video cards and mobile (cell) phones. Primarily Asus sells it’s own brand of products – however they also produces components for other rival manufacturers, including Apple, Dell and HP.


Specialising in the production of personal computers, throughout the 1990’s Compaq expanded to become to leading supplier of PC systems before eventually being overtaken by Dell in the early 2000’s.


Founded in 1984 by Michael Dell, a student at the University of Texas at Austin – who built and sold IBM PCs from stock components from his dorm room, Dell quickly established itself as a major player in the PC industry.


From a background of producing a very diverse product range, HP are now best known for manufacturing computer hardware and software, with their headquarters based in Palo Alto, California, United States. Nowadays HP is the world’s leading PC manufacturer, specialising in small to medium sized businesses, consumers and larger enterprises.


Lenovo is a Chinese company, founded in Beijing, specialising in the manufacturer of laptops, PCs, tablets and similar computer hardware. Founded in 1984, the name derives from an amalgamation the “Le” of “Legend” and “Novo”, the Latin for “new”.


Nowadays Samsung are best known for producing reliable consumer electronics and computer hardware products – with a range of laptops, mobile phones, televisions and tablets, amongst many other products. Below are a few examples of popular Samsung products, complete with reviews and prices.


Sony is known for creating new technologies in house, rather than importing and adopting other manufacturer’s components. This has helped to contribute to their renowned reliability, albeit at a slightly higher price than some of their more competitive rivals’ laptops.


With it’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, Toshiba is a multinational electronics, electrical equipment and IT corporation. By 2010, Toshiba was the world’s 5th largest PC vendor, behind only Dell, HP, Acer, and Lenovo.
