Samsung NP350V5C Review

The Samsung NP350V5C 15.6″ laptop is a great mid-priced laptop, with an impressive specification that belies it’s relatively low price tag. Currently available at around the £420.00 mark, it offers a speedy processing power, in the form of the reliable Intel Core i5 3210M 2.5GHz processor, in addition to the 6GB of fast DDR3 RAM, a 500gb hard drive, which should be ample room for all of your music, files and photos, all running on the excellent Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit operating system from Microsoft.

Below is our review of the Samsung NP350V5C, a 15.6" laptop, featuring 6GB RAM, 500GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.

The processor is a third generation from Intel, and it compares favourably to regular desktops in terms of CPU. The whole system boots up pretty fast – this takes just under a minute, if you use the built in Samsung fast boot facility. Battery life is pretty good, just under five hours from our test during average web / gaming use. You can tailor your battery usage to your needs with the inbuilt Samsung power saving settings. A crystal clear 15.6″ screen provides a great window to your media collection, easy on the eyes and beautifully sharp, whereas audio is also catered for by a fairly decent set of speakers. The default screen resolution is a 1366×768 pixels, and if you wish to use the HDMI port, you can output to your television/monitor in full high definition. Noise wise it performs admirably – most of the time it is pretty quiet, with the fan only coming on intermittently – you can even adjust this so it rarely comes on if you wish to save on battery power. Control wise the keyboard and trackpad perform well – the trackpad is deceptively big, offering multi-touch support for easy browsing – we found that it responds accurately to our every touch. The keyboard is virtually silent, soft to the touch, and features a spacious layout – all in all both the trackpad and keyboard were a pleasure to use. All the standard laptop facilities, are included such as Webcam, DVD drive, card reader etc – nothing to fault here. Aesthetically it looks like a stylish machine. Although it is predominantly made of plastic, it’s still pretty nice finish – it feels solid to the touch and the silver front area by the trackpad has an especially nice finish. The keyboard, as per most Samsung laptops, works well, and is comfortable to use. At a listed weight of 3.4kg, it doesn’t feel too heavy by laptop standards. Included in the box are the laptop itself, Samsung NP350V5C laptop, Battery, an AC adapter, a power cord, and a user guide.
